Whisper
was unable to sit on her first 3 eggs as she has developed
a bony growth on the end of her keel. This kept splitting
the skin. She is perfectly fine now although the bony growth
is still present. I gave the 3 eggs to my Bourke to foster,
but they proved clear.
Whisper
is an excellent mother, although she does have a tendancy
to pluck her chicks' backs. This is probably due to this
being her first ever clutch and should improve with experience.
Aspen doesn't go into the box, but just feeds Whisper from
the hole.

Genetically
the pairing between Aspen & Whisper could not produce
a Normal bird as they are both Opaline Spangles. Therefore
I can conclude that this hen has been sired by
an NSL Lutino.
